Is It a Sin to Miss Sunday Mass?

In order to answer this question well, we must remember the importance of God and the faith in our lives. For our soul to be healthy we should have at least a basic knowledge of our faith. Yet sadly, in most cases, we cannot even remember the First Commandment, let alone the 10 Commandments of the Law of God. This Commandment, the first, says “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve” (Mt 4:10). This is closely related to the Third Commandment: “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy” (Ex 20:8-10; cf. Deut 5:12-15).

The Duck

Hello, Hello...
Today, I want to share a different story with you. Yes, different and very sad story, but before telling it, I have to tell you something that happened to me nine years ago.

On that day, I was going to work when suddenly, from behind a wall, a duck flew toward me at full speed, with such bad luck that I hit him with the car and he was thrown to the ground. I reversed the car, stopped, and got out to help the poor bird. It turned out that the duck was not a papa duck, but a mama duck. How did I realize it was a lady duck? Because there, next to that wall, under a bush, were about 15 small, beautiful and defenseless ducklings.

Heaven is Reachable, Just Love Others

The fundamental goal of every Christian must be that at the end of our earthly lives, we enter Heaven and live eternally in the presence of our Eternal and loving Father. And in order to achieve this goal, it is not enough to pray all day, to fast, to fulfill penance, to get to the point of sweating holy water, etc. None of this is sufficient. We will not be able to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven unless we have a true love in our hearts.

Treasures of Our Church

My experience in one of the Treasures of Our Church

I believe that all of you know that a short while ago in Florida, U.S.A., Hurricane Irma affected us; a storm never seen before. It was bigger than Colombia, my country of origin. Due to the threat of the hurricane, many Floridians decided to evacuate - far away from the winds and water that Irma was bringing to our area. I was one of the thousands of Floridians who evacuated out of the state, and I chose the State of Alabama because the projection of the storm showed that Alabama would not be touched by Irma and its tentacles.
